Do all programmers speak english? Brad Abrams.

  • I write all my code in English. I find it much easier to read and I am also thinking that maybe one day someone not speaking Norwegian will have a look at the code. Then I will be happy not having to translate the whole thing :)

We recently hired a Chinese guy to do some work for us and he might do some coding as well. What a hell it would have been for him to get into that code if it was in Norwegian...

Were you the guy commenting as "Norwegian guy" on that other blog? If so I am quite surprised that you use Norwegian code. I remember once you told that you would not have mind the Norwegian language to be extinct and we all just use English ;)

  • And I still do! No, that was not me, the code he showed made the hair stand on my back. I am of the same opinion as you, I can see no justification in writing in anything other than English, or at least a mayor language.
